Adoption Files Network (AFN) is the project of Luis Carlos Vogels. He keeps himself busy concerning the adoption files. He also makes use of the “Agreement concerning child rights” and “Agreement cocnerning protection of children and the cooperation on the field of international adoption”. According to these agreements it's of the adoptee's great interest to own the correct adoption papers. After all, everyone has the right to know where he or she comes from. Correct adoption papers are of essential base for the well-being of the child.
Target
Adoption Files Network's target is showing the World that adoption files often contain errors in its contents. With this project, Luis Carlos wants to accomplish that in the future every single paper of a child who will be given away, will be completely documented in the right way. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. This may have the following causes:
- The file of the adoption child has not been kept up to date correctly. Blank pages and missing parts are caused by this.
- It may be that the data were left out of the file consciously. For instance, this might raise the subject of the child becoming a victim to the child market.
- People who received the file in their hands may have been – perhaps unconsciously – careless with it.
Mission
AFN wants to collect as many files possible in the time being, which don't have all the contents. With this AFN wants to:
- Show the Ministry of Justice, Child Care and adoption agencies that a lot of adoption files are wrong concerning the contents.
- A ban on adopting children whose data are incorrect.
- Demand that the procedure for adoption can only be done if on that moment there's a guarantee that the adoption files are 100% correct.
AFN mainly aims for:
- Adoptees
- Child Care
- Ministry of Justice
- Adoption agencies
Luis Carlos is planning to collect as many digital adoption files possible. The digital files will be save don an external hard disk. This hard disk is secured. Should an adoptee gladly offer his or her file but doesn't have it in his or her possession, then AFN can offer the help needed. AFN discourages in picking up a personal adoption file all alone. It's much wiser to take someone along with you who has a lot of experience in this field. The adoptee personally decides whether to offer the file to AFN for digital storage. If the adoptee would like to get in touch with the people from the environment of his or her country of origin, then AFN will refer him or her to AAN. Therefore all data are saved which makes it easier to get in touch with relatives.
AFN's field of activity goes around the world. Each country has its own project leader who registers adoption files.
