PRESS RELEASE Inspired trio commence human rights organisation Plan Angel Amsterdam, 14 March 2010 Three projects active in the field of adoption and human rights have joined forces in a new organisation, Plan Angel. On 18 January 2010, the three founders of Plan Angel, Marcia Engel (31), Luís Carlos Vogels (26) and Yajaira Huisjes (28) established their initiative as an official organisation by registering at the notary. The creation of Plan Angel was celebrated with a festive opening in the Bazar in Rotterdam on 20 February. The organisation of Dutch origin has a strong international personality content focused on adoption and human rights. Plan Angel serves as an umbrella over various projects. Awareness is its main priority. Abuse in adoption and human rights should be tackled by the source and according to the organisation this can only be done if the problems that already exist and their possible solutions will be getting a bigger publicity. “Our ultimate goal is change. However, this is only possible when a sense of awareness is present. We think that by setting up projects it will create a lot of awareness”, Marcia Engel explains. Due to their backgrounds, the promoters of Plan Angel are personally involved with the projects and purpose of the umbrella organisation. All three of them are from Colombia and were adopted by Dutch families. The enthusiastic trio run three projects close their personal experiences. Marcia Engel founded the ‘Adoption Angels Network', Luís Carlos Vogels deals with ‘Adoption Files Network' and the project of Yajaira Huisjes is called Plan Real. Plan Angel is growing fast and expects to open an office soon. Currently, Plan Angel runs six active projects and has many ambitious plans for the future. The latest project called “Plan Art” is also well underway. Plan Art bridges the gap between art and human rights. Artists are able to promote their work through Plan Art. Marcia Engel: “We already have many applications and hope this will be online on 1 April. This project also draws a different group.
